Brendan Lynch, Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia, is arriving in Dhaka on Tuesday for a three-day visit to discuss the progress of the trade agreement signed between the United States and Bangladesh.

The US embassy in Dhaka confirmed the information in a media note on Monday, May 4. Lynch will lead a delegation to Dhaka from May 5 to May 7 to discuss ways to strengthen trade and investment ties with Bangladesh.

The US expects a partnership in implementing the US-Bangladesh bilateral trade agreement. The agreement will facilitate market access for goods from both countries, remove investment barriers, and increase commercial opportunities to accelerate economic growth, the embassy said.

The visit will play a significant role in elevating bilateral economic relations to new heights. This is the first visit of a US trade representative to Dhaka since the BNP government took office in February.
