BRTA suspends registration of 'Showhardo Paribahan' bus sank in Daulatdia

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has suspended the registration of the Showhardo Paribahan bus that plunged into the Padma River at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat in Goalanda upazila, Rajbari, with passengers on board.

Muhammad Ohidur Rahman, Assistant Director of BRTA Rajbari Circle, confirmed the information on Friday afternoon, March 27.

The BRTA letter stated that the registration of the motor vehicle bearing Rajbari-B 11-0024 has been temporarily suspended in accordance with the Road Transport Act and Road Transport Rules.

Additionally, the owner has been directed to appear at the BRTA Rajbari office within three working days with the registration certificate, tax token, fitness certificate, route permit, and the driver's driving licence. The bus owner has been asked to explain why the vehicle's registration should not be permanently cancelled.

"If a satisfactory explanation is not provided within the next three working days, necessary action will be taken as per rules," Ohidur Rahman added.
