BRTC begins Eid special bus service
The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched its Eid Special bus service to facilitate travel for Eid-ul-Adha. The service will operate from June 3 to June 14.
Around 650 buses will run on special routes beyond the regular schedules to manage the surge of travelers. Advance ticket sales started on May 24 at various BRTC depots.
Speaking at a meeting on June 2 at the BRTC headquarters in Motijheel, Chairman Abdul Latif Molla said the service aims to provide safe, affordable, and comfortable travel nationwide. He assured that buses will depart on time, no extra passengers will be allowed, and fares will comply with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority regulations.
To ensure safety, the technical department will conduct vehicle fitness checks a day before departure and issue certificates to all buses. Additionally, each bus will display stickers with the driver’s name, mobile number, vehicle registration, and control room contact details for passenger assistance.
A 24/7 control room has been set up at the main office and all depots to monitor operations. Passengers can contact the control room at 02-41053042 or 01324293974.
