A double-decker bus of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) crashed into a pillar of the elevated expressway in Dhaka’s Farmgate area, causing severe damage to the upper portion of the bus. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon (July 29). A video of the accident has gone viral on social media, showing the front upper section of the bus badly crushed as several passengers attempt to jump down from the upper deck. Anish Kirtania, Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) of Tejgaon Zone Police, told the media, "A bus has collided with a ramp of the elevated expressway."

রাজধানীর ফার্মগেট এলাকায় বাংলাদেশ সড়ক পরিবহন কর্তৃপক্ষের (বিআরটিসি) দোতলা একটি বাস এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ের পিলারে ধাক্কা দিয়েছে। এতে বাসের ওপরের অংশ দুমড়ে-মুচড়ে যায়। মঙ্গলবার (২৯ জুলাই) দুপুরের দিকে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে বলে জানা গেছে। এ ঘটনার একটি ভিডিও সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। ভিডিওতে দেখা যায়, বাসের ওপরের সামনের অংশ দুমড়ে-মুচড়ে যায়। দোতলা থেকে লাফ দিয়ে অনেক যাত্রীকে নিচে নামার চেষ্টা করতে দেখা যায়। পুলিশের তেজগাঁও অঞ্চলের সহকারী কমিশনার (ট্রাফিক) অনীশ কীর্ত্তনীয়া গণমাধ্যমকে বলেন, ‘একটি বাস এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ের র‍্যাম্পে লাগিয়ে দেয়ার ঘটনা ঘটেছে।’
