BSF finally removes 10 people from no man's land at Panchagarh border
The Indian Border Security Force has finally removed 10 people, including women and children from two families, who were victims of a push-in attempt at the Borbari border in Panchagarh. They were taken from the no man's land into Indian territory.
According to local and BGB sources, the BSF removed them from the zero line area around 2:00 am on Sunday night. The matter was confirmed on Monday morning by Lieutenant Colonel Md Sirajul Islam, commander of Nilphamari's 56 BGB Battalion.
The BGB said the push-in attempt was made on Thursday night at the 5th sub-pillar of main pillar 758 at the Borbari border in Haribhasa union of Panchagarh Sadar upazila. However, the 10 individuals — five men, three women and two children — remained stranded at the zero line after being blocked by BGB.
According to locals, they endured extreme hardship under the open sky for three days, facing storms, rain, scorching sun and heat. Tension along the border also caused some panic among locals.
The BGB commander said the border situation is now normal, and the BGB remains on alert to prevent any illegal infiltration or push-in attempts.
