Fifteen Bangladeshis held by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) were handed over to the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB).

The handover took place at 8:10pm on Thursday (August 28) at the Hakimpur check post in Taluigacha of Satkhira Sadar.

According to a BGB press release, the individuals—including men, women, and children—were detained by the BSF on Wednesday night (August 27) while trying to enter India illegally. They are residents of Satkhira, Khulna, and Pirojpur districts.

The handover took place during a flag meeting attended by BSF Amudia Company Commander Inspector Dibajyoti Dolly and Taluigacha BOP Commander of BGB, Naeb Subedar Abul Kashem. Following the meeting, a BGB patrol team escorted the detainees to Satkhira Sadar Police Station.

Naeb Subedar Abul Kashem also filed a general diary at the police station documenting the handover.

Shaminul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said, "The detainees are now in police custody. Their personal details and backgrounds are being verified, and once the reports are complete, they will be handed over to their legal guardians."
