BSF kills, takes away body of Cumilla youth

A businessman named Kamal Hossain (32) was killed in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Paharpur border of Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila.

He is the son of Idu Mia of Jolai Kuriapara village in the upazila.

The incident happened at 7:30pm on Monday (October 7). 

Later, the body of the deceased was taken to India by BSF members.

The deceased's elder brother Hiran Mia told Views Bangladesh, "Kamal Hossain used to find ant eggs and sell them as livelihood. He went to the border area in search of ant eggs from soil that night, when he was shot dead and his body taken away by BSF."

In this regard, BGB Comilla's 10th battalion captain Lt Colonel Md Iftekhar Hossain said Kamal Hossain was killed by BSF firing. He had gone 25 yards inside the Indian border. His body was taken to India. His body will be brought back through flag meeting sometime on Tuesday.
