BSF pushes 18 more people in
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 18 men and women into Bangladesh through three border points in Gangni of Meherpur and Daulatpur upazilas of Kushtia. The push-in operation took place from 12noon to 4pm on Tuesday (July 29).
The BSF pushed six people into Bangladesh through the Kazipur border in Gangni, three through Sahratala and nine others through the Mathurapur border in Daulatpur upazila.
Subedar Habibur Rahman, Kazipur Company Commander of 47 BGB in Kushtia, confirmed the news.
He said that they were entered into Bangladesh through the area between international pillars 145/4S and 146 of the Kazipur border.
Subedar Habibur said: "The people who were pushed into India at various times in the past were arrested by the police and imprisoned. After their jail term, BSF took the opportunity to bring them across the border and push them back into Bangladesh." However, he added that details can be revealed only after their citizenship is verified and confirmed.

A BGB press release said that a protest letter has been sent to BSF regarding this incident. No response has been received from them yet. If a response is received, a flag meeting will be organized in No Man's Land.
