Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 22 people into Bangladesh through the Sanatanpunji border in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet. Among them are 13 men, four women and five children. The BSF pushed them into Bangladesh through that border point on Saturday morning. Later, a patrol team of 19 BGB arrested them while they were infiltrating. Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Md. Zubair Anwar said that effort is underway to arrest the infiltrators and verify their identities. Kanaighat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Awal said that legal action will be taken if the BGB hands them over to the police station.

সিলেটের কানাইঘাট উপজেলার সনাতনপুঞ্জি সীমান্ত দিয়ে ফের ২২ জনকে বাংলাদেশে পুশ ইন করেছে ভারতীয় সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনী (বিএসএফ)। তাদের মধ্যে ১৩ জন পুরুষ, চার নারী ও পাঁচ শিশু রয়েছে। শনিবার (২৪ মে) সকালেই ওই সীমান্ত পয়েন্ট দিয়ে তাদের বাংলাদেশে ঠেলে পাঠায় বিএসএফ। পরে ১৯ বিজিবির একটি টহল দল অনুপ্রবেশের সময় তাদের আটক করে। জকিগঞ্জ ব্যাটালিয়নের (১৯ বিজিবি) কমান্ডিং অফিসার লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মো. জুবায়ের আনোয়ার জানান, অনুপ্রবেশকারীদের আটক করে পরিচয় যাচাইয়ের কাজ চলছে। কানাইঘাট থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) আব্দুল আউয়াল বলেন, বিজিবি তাদেরকে থানায় হস্তান্তর করলে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
