BSF pushes 37 more in through borders
The Indian border security force has pushed 37 more people, including women and children, in to Bangladesh through the Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar and Naogaon borders.
The BGB has detained these people and handed them over to the police station concerned.
All the detainees claimed to be Bangladeshi citizens and said that they had illegally gone to India in search of livelihood at different times.
According to BGB sources, in the last 40 days, the BSF has pushed a total of 1,435 people in to Bangladesh in this way.
On Friday morning, the BSF pushed back a total of 15 people, including 14 from the same family, through the 1st sub-pillar of the 295th main pillar of the Achintapur border in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur. A BGB patrol team detained them. Among the detainees are 9 children and 3 women. They all claimed to be residents of Kalia police station in Narail district. On October 7, 2024, they crossed the Benapole border into India and later went to work in Mumbai.
Early the same day, the BSF pushed 13 people, including three women and six children, into Bangladesh through the Baralekha border in Moulvibazar.
BGB members of New Pallathal BOP detained them and handed them over to the police. BGB 52 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Arif said that their identities are being verified.
The BSF pushed seven people, including three women, two men and two children, through the Golabari border in Panchagarh. A patrol team of BGB 56 Battalion's Amarkhana camp arrested them from the 1st sub-pillar area of Main Pillar 743. They claimed to be residents of Narail and Jessore districts. In this regard, 60 people have been pushed into Bangladesh in five phases at the Panchagarh border this month.
BSF pushed a woman named Asia Begum, 50, into Bangladesh through Jagaddal Math area of Dhamairhat upazila of Naogaon. She had been working as a nanny in a hospital in Mumbai for 10 years. Her home is in Ishabpur area of Jessore district.
On Thursday night, BSF sent back 9 people, including two children, through the Karaigarh border in Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh. Eight of them live in Bagerhat and one in Mymensingh. All of them worked in Chennai, India and were trying to return to the country through brokers after being chased by the Chennai police. Shibganj police in Meghalaya, India arrested them and later sent them to the border.
The BGB says that they have been handed over to the police station for taking appropriate legal action against these people.
