BSF pushes 6 people Lalmonirhat border
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has once again pushed six people into Bangladesh through the Dangapara border of Srirampur union in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The incident took place early Saturday (June 14). Five men and one woman are among the push-ins.
According to BGB and local sources, they were pushed into Bangladesh through the Chengerbari border of Mekhliganj police station in Cooch Behar district, India, at around 4:30 am on Saturday.
Ratanpur camp of India's BSF 169 Battalion is located opposite the 1st sub-pillar of Bangladesh's main pillar number 853 on this border.
Initially, it was learned that the BSF members pushed three Indian men, one Bangladeshi woman and two men towards Bangladesh. Later in the afternoon, when they were roaming around in the Kamalar Bazar area of Azizpur village, about one and a half kilometers inside, the locals saw the matter and informed the BGB.
Upon receiving the information, members of the Serampur camp under the Rangpur 61 Battalion (Tista-2) of the BGB went to the spot and detained them. Both the BGB and BSF are now on alert in the border area.
Naib Subedar Zubair Rahman, Camp Commander of the Serampur BGB camp, confirmed the matter and said that the victims of the push-in were previously staying in the Indian tea garden. Investigation is underway regarding the incident.
