The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly pushed eight Bangladeshi nationals into the country through the Bholahat border in Chapainawabganj.

The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Monday (June 2), when the individuals were sent back from India’s Alipur area. Among the eight are four men and four women.

Akhtarul Islam, a member of Ward 1 under Bholahat’s Union Parishad No. 1, confirmed that several of the men were detained by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) upon entry.

Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commanding officer of the 59 BGB Battalion, stated that BSF personnel pushed the individuals through the Chand Shikari border point. BGB has taken them into custody, and legal proceedings are currently underway.

This follows a similar incident on May 27, when 17 people were pushed into Bangladesh via the Bibishan border in Radhanagar Union, Gomastapur upazila.
