BSF pushes in 10 Bangladeshis through Moulvibazar border
India's Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed in ten Bangladeshi nationals, including women, through the Batamoral area under Barolekha Police Station on Saturday morning (July 5).
However, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained them from the border area after being pushed in.
According to the BGB, a patrol team from New Pallathal Border Outpost (BOP) under the 52 Beanibazar Battalion detained the group while they were moving suspiciously through a hilly area along the border.
Among those detained are seven men and three women, BGB said.
During preliminary interrogation, they admitted to illegally entering India through the Sylhet and Comilla border points between one to six months ago in search of work. The individuals are reported to be residents of Satkhira, Khulna, and Barisal districts.
BGB officials stated that legal procedures are underway following verification of their identities.
