BSF pushes in 32 people through Netrokona border
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 32 people into Bangladesh through the Bijoypur border of Durgapur upazila in Netrokona. Among them are 22 women, 1 child, and 9 men. In addition, based on intelligence, the army and Durgapur police have detained 8 more people from the Durgapur bazaar area.
According to Abdul Awal, Assistant Director of BGB-31, the push-in took place around 3.00am on Wednesday (June 4).
BGB sources said that the individuals were pushed in near Jagatkura area, about 500 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar 1148/6-S of the Bijoypur BOP. They were detained during the push-in and taken to the Bijoypur District Council rest house for initial questioning.
The detainees are from various districts, including Tangail, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Jashore, Narail, Dhaka, Jamalpur, Brahmanbaria, Khulna, Sherpur, and Dinajpur.
BGB said that after the preliminary interrogation, the 32 people pushed in will be handed over to Durgapur Police Station.
