BSF pushes in 9 more Bangladeshis through Khagrachari border
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has once again pushed nine individuals—including five women, one child, and three men—into Bangladesh through the Shantipur border in Khagrachari.
The incident took place early Thursday morning (June 26) in the Shantipur border area of Matiranga upazila.
Matiranga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Manjurul Alam confirmed the matter. He said, “Nine people were pushed in during the night, including women and a child. They are being provided with food after crossing the border. However, the exact details of how they were pushed in are still unclear. According to the individuals, they had been working in India as laborers. They are currently being housed at Belchhari High School. Legal action will be taken after verifying their identities. For now, they remain under the supervision of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).”
According to available information, a total of 154 people have so far been pushed into Bangladesh through various border points in Khagrachari.
Notably, on May 7 this year, the BSF first pushed in Bangladeshi nationals through three separate points in Matiranga and Panchhari upazilas.
