The Indian Border Security Force has removed 28 people who had been gathered for a push-in attempt about 50 yards inside the border in Gomastapur upazila, Chapainawabganj. The matter was confirmed on Friday afternoon, June 5, by Assistant Director of 16 BGB (Naogaon Battalion) Rabiul Islam.

The people had been gathered in the Ghughia Anarpur area of Bangabari union. A company commander-level meeting between BGB and BSF was held at the border on Friday morning but ended without any decision. BSF said they were awaiting a decision from their higher authorities.

Meanwhile, BGB patrolled five border areas in the upazila with local residents on Thursday night to prevent push-in. The force remains on high alert.

Earlier on Thursday morning, an attempt had been made to push 28 women, men and children into Bangladesh through the same border.
