BSF returns 3 Bangladeshis via Chunarughat border
Three Bangladeshis, caught attempting to enter India illegally through the Chunarughat border in Habiganj, were returned by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). They were handed over to the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) during a flag meeting around 11.00pm on Tuesday (August 19) and later taken to the Chunarughat police station.
The returned individuals are Bithi Howlader (25), daughter of Dolo Howlader from Galachipa of Patuakhali; Nurjahan Begum (45), daughter of Rokib Ali from Narail Sadar; and Nannu Sheikh (49), son of Jalal Sheikh from Singia of Narail.
According to police, with the help of local brokers, they were attempting to go to India's Mumbai for work without proper documents via the Balla border in Chunarughat. They were arrested by the BSF immediately after crossing the border.
Nur Alam, officer-in-charge of Chunarughat police station, said, “A case has been filed against them under the Passport Act.”
