Bullet-riddled body of woman recovered from beside Dhaka-Mawa expressway

The bullet-riddled body of an unidentified young woman was found lying on the side of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway at Srinagar upazila in Munshiganj.

Local people informed the police after seeing the body lying on the Dogachi service road of the highway around 8:30 am on Saturday (November 30).

The police have sent the body to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

As five bullet shells were found next to the body, the police believe that the young woman was shot to death.

Srinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Qaiyum Uddin Chowdhury said, “The locals saw the young woman walking on the highway with a young man in the morning. However, no information is known about who shot her. It is also not confirmed whether there was anyone else with her.”

He said, “Five bullet shells were recovered from the side of the body. Initially, we think that she was brought here in the morning and shot dead. We are investigating with the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to unravel the mystery.”
