Burglars have looted an estimated of 100 bhori gold and 150 bhori silver ornaments from a jewellery shop in the capital’s Khilgaon area, police said. Md. Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station, confirmed the incident on Thursday (March 5). According to him, the shop, located beneath a house in the Goran Tempu Stand area, is believed to have been targeted Wednesday night. "CCTV footage from the scene has not yet been recovered. The exact value and quantity of the stolen items will be confirmed after investigation," he said. A case has been filed, and authorities have begun investigating the incident to identify and apprehend the culprits. Further details will be released as the probe progresses.

রাজধানীর খিলগাঁওয়ে একটি স্বর্ণের দোকানে দুর্ধর্ষ চুরির ঘটনা ঘটেছে। দোকান থেকে ১০০ ভরি স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও ১৫০ ভরি রুপার অলঙ্কার চুরি হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (৫ মার্চ) খিলগাঁও থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) মো. শফিকুল ইসলাম এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, গরন টেম্পু স্ট্যান্ড এলাকায় একটি বাড়ির নিচে অবস্থিত ওই দোকানে সম্ভবত গতকাল (বুধবার) রাতে এই চুরির ঘটনা ঘটে। আজ দোকান মালিক পক্ষ পুলিশকে বিষয়টি জানায়। প্রাথমিক তথ্য অনুযায়ী, দোকান থেকে ১০০ ভরি স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও ১৫০ ভরি রুপার অলঙ্কার চুরি হয়েছে। তবে, চুরি হওয়া অলঙ্কারের সঠিক পরিমাণ তদন্ত শেষে নিশ্চিত করা যাবে। তিনি আরও বলেন, এখনো চুরির ঘটনাস্থলের সিসিটিভি ফুটেজ পাওয়া যায়নি। আমরা তদন্ত করছি এবং একটি মামলা প্রক্রিয়াধীন রয়েছে। জড়িতদের আইনের আওতায় আনার জন্য কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। পরবর্তীতে তদন্তের অগ্রগতি জানানো হবে।
