Following the incident, multiple teams from Ramna Police Station and the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) arrived at the scene and began investigating. CCTV footage has been collected and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division stated that several investigation teams are working on the case and reviewing the mall’s security protocols, which have come under scrutiny. Authorities are also examining potential links between this theft and a similar recent incident in Jatrabari.
Earlier, on October 5, a jewellery store in Jatrabari was robbed of 125 bhori of gold and nearly Tk 275,000 in cash. A case was filed on October 7, and law enforcement is currently analysing footage to trace the culprits.
