Burimari Land Port to suspend trade for 8 days during Durga Puja

Import and export operations through Lalmonirhat’s Burimari land port will remain suspended for eight consecutive days during the upcoming Durga Puja. Passenger movement, however, will continue as usual.

The suspension was confirmed Wednesday (September 24) by A.S.M. Niaz Nahid, general secretary of the Burimari C&F Agents’ Association.

He said India’s Changrabandha Exporters’ Association issued a letter announcing the closure from September 27 to October 4, which Burimari traders have also endorsed.

Trade activities will resume on October 5. Customs offices on both sides will remain open during the period, while immigration checkpoints will operate normally for passport holders, officials said.
