Bus carrying Islamic University students overturns, 25 injured

A bus carrying Islamic University (IU) students overturned. At least 25 students were injured. The accident occurred at a place called Bittipara on Tuesday morning while coming from Kushtia city to the campus.

Eyewitnesses said that a bus named Suhail, rented by the university, left for the campus from Customs intersection in Kushtia in the morning with about 40 students. When the bus reached a place called Bittipara, it lost control while overtaking another vehicle in front and overturned in a paddy field on the right side of the road. It is said that 25 students were injured in this. The injured have been sent to Kushtia and EB Medical Centers for treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver and helper of the bus are absconding since the accident. The students on the bus said that the accident occurred due to the driver driving the bus at excessive speed. They said that this bus always drives at excessive speed. The speed of driving their bus is not convenient. The same happened today too. The driver lost control while overtaking the bus due to excessive speed.

University Proctor Professor Dr. Shahinuzzaman said, we came to the spot immediately after hearing. Many were injured. 12 injured were brought to Kushtia Medical College. Of these, 8 were sent after primary treatment. 4 were slightly injured. They have been admitted to the hospital. Various tests are underway. I am here. If anyone needs higher treatment, they will be sent outside.
