At least three people were killed and ten others injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Karimpur area of Faridpur district. Karimpur Highway Police reported that a head-on collision between the Royal Express bus traveling from Chuadanga to Dhaka and a local bus of Rick Enterprise traveling from Faridpur to Magura resulted in 3 deaths and 10 injuries. The injured and deceased have been taken to the hospital, but their identities have not yet been confirmed. Traffic on the highway remains normal. Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge of Karimpur Highway Police Station, said the police are working to identify the deceased. Efforts are underway to recover the two buses involved in the accident. Legal action will be taken accordingly.

ফরিদপুরে দুইটি যাত্রীবাহী বাসের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে তিনজন নিহত এবং ১০ জন আহত হয়েছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার (২৪ জুলাই) সকাল ১০টার দিকে ঢাকা-খুলনা মহাসড়কের ফরিদপুর সদরের করিমপুর এলাকার আবুল হোসেন ফিলিং স্টেশনে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। দুর্ঘটনার বিষয়ে করিমপুর হাইওয়ে পুলিশ জানায়, চুয়াডাঙ্গা থেকে ঢাকাগামী রয়েল এক্সপ্রেস বাস ও ফরিদপুর থেকে মাগুরাগামী লোকাল বাস রিক এন্টারপ্রাইজের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে ৩ জন নিহত হন। এতে উভয় বাসের ৮/১০ জন আহত হয়েছেন। আহত ও নিহতদের হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে। তবে তাদের নাম পরিচয় এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। হাইওয়ে পুলিশ আরও জানায়, মহাসড়কে যান চলাচল এখনো স্বাভাবিক রয়েছে। এ ব্যাপারে করিমপুর হাইওয়ে থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. সালাউদ্দিন চৌধুরী বলেন, নিহতদের পরিচয় উদ্ধারে কাজ করছে পুলিশ। দুর্ঘটনাকবলিত বাস দুইটি উদ্ধারের প্রক্রিয়া চলছে। এ ব্যাপারে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে।
