Bus fare reduce by 3 paisa per km, effective from Tuesday
After reducing fuel prices, the government has reduced the fares of long-distance and metropolitan diesel buses by three paisa per kilometer, according to notification issued by the Road Transport and Highways Division on Monday (April 1).
According to the notification, the new bus will be effective from Tuesday.
In case of buses and minibuses plying on inter-district and long-distance routes, the fare per kilometre will be Tk 2.15 instead of Tk 2.12. And the bus fare in Dhaka and Chattogram cities has been decreased to Tk 2.42 per km from Tk 2.45.
Bus fare of Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Manikganj and various routes of Dhaka division which are under the purview of Dhaka Road Transport Coordinating Authority (DTCA) has been reduced from Tk 2.35 to Tk 2.32.
The Road Transport and Highways Division said that the minimum fare for buses operating in Dhaka and Chattogram cities will be Tk 10 and the minimum fare for minibuses will be Tk 8.
In April, the government reduced the price of diesel and kerosene by Tk 2.25 per litre as part of automatic monthly adjustment of fuel oil prices.
