Businessman commits suicide after wife marries another man

A businessman in Bogura has died by suicide after his wife left him and married another man, leaving behind their eight-year-old daughter. Rahul Yadav, 32, who was involved in the lentil import business, posted a suicidal status on his personal Facebook account before consuming poisonous tablets at his home on Thursday afternoon, May 14. He died while undergoing treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital around 1:00 am on Friday.

Rahul was the only son of Niranjan Goala of Namajgarh Dalpatti area in Bogura city. Family and police sources said that a few months ago, his wife became involved in an extramarital affair and married another youth, leaving their daughter behind. Since then, Rahul had been suffering from severe mental distress.

Sub-Inspector Abdullah Al Sadik of Bogura Sadar Police Station said the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy following their request. An unnatural death case has been registered.
