A businessman named Kamruzzaman Khan Dipu (40) died after being beaten in Khilgaon, Dhaka, over an old enmity. Family members claim they could not afford to admit him to the ICU as advised by doctors due to lack of funds. After being taken home, his condition deteriorated, and when he was later taken to hospital, doctors declared him dead.

According to police, the victim was picked up from the Khilgaon area on Wednesday (July 29) evening, taken to Shahjahanpur in a van, and beaten. He was then left abandoned in the Khilgaon Railgate area. Family members, informed by locals, admitted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors advised immediate ICU admission.

Khilgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Suman Mia said the family took him home due to financial constraints. On Friday evening, when his condition worsened, he was taken to Mugda Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The body was recovered from Mugda Hospital around 10:30pm on Friday and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police said injury marks were found on various parts of the body.

The deceased, Kamruzzaman, was a permanent resident of Khilgaon C Block and ran a water business in the area.

A murder case has been filed at Khilgaon Police Station on behalf of the victim's family. Police are conducting raids to arrest those involved.
