Businessman's body found hanging in Sylhet residential hotel

Police have recovered the body of a businessman from a residential hotel in Sylhet. The body was found hanging in a room at the Relax Inn hotel in the Dhopadighir North Para area on Sunday afternoon, March 29.

The deceased was identified as Mofazzal Haque Saurav, 32, a resident of Kasba village in Nabiganj upazila, Habiganj. He was the owner of 'Tanvi Kitchen', a restaurant in the Lamabazar area of Sylhet city.

According to witnesses, Saurav was staying in a room on the fifth floor of the hotel. Hotel staff discovered him hanging around 3:30 pm and informed the police. Officers from Kotwali Police Station broke open the door and recovered the body.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khan Muhammad Mainul Zakir said the body has been sent to Sylhet Osmani Hospital morgue for autopsy. Further legal proceedings are underway.
