Bus-motorcycle collision in Gopalganj kills two brothers

Two brothers were killed after a passenger bus collided with their motorcycle in Gopalganj. The accident took place around 10.00pm on Friday (August 29) on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Dumdia area of Sadar Upazila.

The deceased were identified as Ruhul Amin Khan, 65, and his younger brother Dulal Amin Khan, 57. Both are sons of Abul Kashem Khan from Khagail village in Sadar Upazila.

Mir Md Sazedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.

Roman Mollah, Sub-Inspector of Gopalganj Highway Police, said, "The two brothers were returning home on their motorcycle after closing their business when, upon reaching Dumdia, a passenger bus traveling towards Dhaka collided with them. Dulal Amin Khan was thrown from the motorcycle and died instantly, while Ruhul Amin Khan, who was severely injured, was rushed to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead."

According to the police, the bodies will be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures. However, the bus involved in the accident, along with its driver and helper, has not yet been apprehended. The tragic deaths of the two brothers have plunged the area into deep mourning.
