CA calls on UN-Habitat for sustainable housing for climate-affected

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has urged UN-Habitat to increase support for the provision of sustainable and affordable housing for communities affected by climate disasters in Bangladesh.

He made the appeal during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, with UN-Habitat Executive Director, Maimunah Mohd Sharif, on Saturday (September 27).

The two leaders discussed various topics related to affordable housing, waste management, and microfinance-based housing as solutions for climate change impacts. They also touched on the issue of Rohingya refugee settlements in Bangladesh.

Dr. Yunus invited UN-Habitat to participate in a high-level UN conference on the Rohingya crisis in New York, reinforcing the need for international cooperation on addressing these urgent challenges.
