Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has left Dhaka for Rome to attend the annual World Food Forum organised by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
He departed at 11:30am on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday (October 12), Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, deputy press secretary, confirmed.
According to his itinerary, Dr. Yunus will deliver a speech as an invited guest at the main session of the forum. This year’s event runs from October 10 to 17 at the FAO headquarters in Rome.
The visit is seen as part of Bangladesh’s active role in global diplomacy. The Chief Adviser is expected to return on October 15.
