On Saturday, November 22, in the afternoon, a bilateral meeting took place at the chief adviser’s office in Tejgaon, attended by Tshering Tobgay and a 13-member delegation. They first held a one-to-one meeting, followed by a meeting with representatives of both countries.

The Bhutanese prime minister was greeted with flowers at the chief adviser’s office. During the nearly hour-long discussion, the two sides highlighted investment prospects and areas of cooperation.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Dhaka on a two-day state visit, where he was received at the airport by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

He was given a red-carpet reception at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

A brief meeting was also held between the two leaders at the VIP lounge of the airport. During this time, Tobgay inquired about casualties and damage caused by Friday’s earthquake and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

After the meeting, Tobgay was escorted to the temporary saluting dais where he received a 19-gun salute and a guard of honour.

The Bhutanese prime minister then departed for the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, where he would lay a wreath at the memorial altar and sign the visitors’ book.
