CA mourns death of folk legend Farida Parveen

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep sorrow over the death of eminent folk singer Farida Parveen, who passed away at a city hospital tonight at the age of 71.

In a condolence message, he described her as the “Queen of Lalon Geeti” and praised her five-decade-long contribution to promoting Lalon’s philosophy through music.

He noted that her dedication to music, despite many challenges, inspired generations.

The Chief Adviser said her legacy will remain a lasting part of Bangladesh’s cultural heritage and extended his condolences to her bereaved family.
