CA to decide on referendum soon: Asif Nazrul

Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has said political disputes over the proposed referendum have intensified, and the Chief Adviser will make a decision soon.

Speaking at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday (October 30), he said, "It was disappointing that parties remained divided even after 270 days of dialogue."

“The disagreement has now centered on the referendum, creating tension among parties,” he noted.

The Adviser added that the issue was discussed in the Advisory Council meeting and warned that no party should impose its stance on the government.

He reaffirmed that the national election will be held in the first half of February, stressing that maintaining a peaceful environment is the shared responsibility of all political parties.
