According to Chief Adviser’s Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad, Professor Yunus will arrive in New York on September 22 and is expected to address the General Assembly on September 26. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka on October 2.

At a briefing on September 17, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain confirmed that four political leaders will join this year’s Bangladesh delegation. They include BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP leader Humayun Kabir, Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syeed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, and National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Akhter Hossen.

In his address to the UNGA, the Chief Adviser is expected to highlight the government's initiatives over the past year and reiterate the interim administration’s commitment to democratic reforms and the conduct of free and fair elections scheduled for February next year.

Additionally, the UN will host a High-Level Conference on September 30 focused on the situation of Rohingya Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar—a session of particular significance for Bangladesh.
