CA to leave for Rome Sunday
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will depart for Rome on Sunday (October 12) to attend the World Food Forum’s flagship event, organised by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
His delegation will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30am on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, confirmed Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
During the visit, Prof. Yunus will deliver a speech at the main session as a guest speaker and hold meetings with international leaders, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to discuss issues like food security, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.
The event, held at FAO Headquarters in Rome, runs from October 10 to 17 and brings together global policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to shape the future of food systems.
Dr. Yunus is expected to return to Dhaka on October 15. The visit is being viewed as a key step in Bangladesh’s proactive global diplomacy.
