CA Yunus reaches London for 4-day official visit
Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, arrived in London early Tuesday morning for a four-day official visit. He traveled on an Emirates Airlines flight that departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday evening at 7:30 PM local time.
Joining Dr. Yunus are notable officials including Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Dr. Abdul Momen, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
During his visit, Dr. Yunus will meet King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, where he is set to receive the prestigious ‘King’s Charles Harmony Award.’ Additionally, a meeting is scheduled between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the BNP, on Friday morning, June 13, in London.
Diplomatic sources have confirmed that a proposed meeting between Dr. Yunus and British MP Tulip Siddiq, who is also the niece of Sheikh Hasina, was declined by the Chief Adviser’s office, effectively ruling out any engagement during this trip.
