Cable TV businessman brutally murdered in Narsingdi

A cable television businessman was brutally hacked and shot to death late Monday night in Narsingdi. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Rizvi, was attacked around 11 PM near the Purbo Brahmandi Mohila Madrasa in the municipal area.

Rizvi, a resident of the Karimganj area in Amirganj Union of Raipura Upazila, was the son of freedom fighter Zainal Abedin. He ran a cable TV (dish line) business in the Hasanabad area of Amirganj.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of assailants ambushed Rizvi, shooting him first and then attacking him with sharp weapons to ensure his death before fleeing the scene. He died on the spot.

Mohammad Samiul, Inspector (Investigation) of Narsingdi Sadar Police Station, stated, “Upon receiving the report, police quickly arrived at the scene and recovered the body. It has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. We have launched an investigation to determine the motive and identify those responsible. Legal proceedings are underway.”
