Case filed on allegation of raping mother in front of two children

A case has been filed against a person named Md Sohrab Hossain on the allegation of raping a mother in front of her two children in Sreepur of Gazipur. The victim woman filed the case at Sreepur police station as the complainant on Thursday night. Police has informed that the attempt is continuing to arrest the absconding accused.

The age of the accused of the case Md Sohrab Hossain is 35 years. He is a resident of Netrokona district and used to do the business of betel leaves in Maona Chowrasta area.

It has been learnt from the FIR sources of the case that the house owner forced that woman out of the house along with her two children last Tuesday as she could not pay the rent. As there was no place to go anywhere she was sitting under the Maona flyover by taking her two sons.

According to the FIR, Sohrab took that woman and her two children to a lonely place beside the betel leaf warehouse of Maona Chowrasta around 10:30pm by saying that he would give them shelter. It has been alleged that Sohrab raped that woman in front of the two children there itself and fled away.

It has further been said in the FIR that the next day on Wednesday morning two friends of Sohrab named Gautam and Shahid tried to cover up the incident in exchange for money. After that that woman tried to commit suicide by taking her two children. Due to this her four-year-old elder child was seriously injured. That woman and her two-year-old younger child survived. Later the locals admitted the injured child to a nearby hospital.

Police rescued the victim woman at noon on Thursday. Later she was sent to the hospital for her health examination.

The victim woman informed that her husband left her about one year ago. After that she used to live in a rented house in Jaina Bazar area by taking her two children. The house owner forced her out of the house along with her two child children in the evening on Tuesday as she could not pay the rent.

She alleged that Sohrab took her to a lonely place that night by saying that he would give shelter and raped her in front of the two children itself. She informed that Sohrab did not stop even though her children were screaming.

Officer-in-charge of Sreepur police station Mohammad Shahinur Alam said a case has been filed on Thursday night on the allegation of raping a helpless woman. Police is working to arrest the absconding accused Sohrab.

He further said two persons detained for interrogation have been sent to the court as suspects. The victim woman has been sent to the hospital for health examination.
