A case has been filed following a clash at a concert held at the GEC Convention Center near GEC Mor, Chattogram, after slogans such as “Sheikh Hasina-Sheikh Hasina” and “Joy Bangla” were raised. The case was lodged at Khulshi Police Station on Sunday morning.

Authorities have named 400–500 unknown individuals in the case, while ten people arrested at the scene have been formally shown as detained.

Amirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner (North) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, confirmed the filing of the case, stating, “The clash occurred on Saturday night. Ten people were arrested at the scene, and operations are ongoing to apprehend others involved.”

The incident took place around 8:30 pm on Saturday. Police used batons to control the clash, which left three people injured—Md. Raju, 33, Al Hossain Kalu, 25, and Nazir Sharif, 23 —all of whom were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

According to an eyewitness, the band Artsel performed two songs before announcing they could no longer continue. Shortly before the evening Azan, a group of young men at the front of the concert began chanting slogans. A confrontation ensued with local BNP leaders and activists present at the event, prompting police intervention.

Following the clash, a video circulated on social media showing attempts to vandalize the main gate of the convention center. Law enforcement personnel fired shots to control the situation.

Shreema Chakma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said, “The event, organized by Honda, included a concert for which no formal permission was obtained. Some unruly youths caused damage, prompting police to intervene with a baton charge.”
