Cases filed over rape of 2 kids, mentally-challenge woman in Bogura

Two separate cases have been filed over the rape of two children and a mentally-challenged woman in the district's Kahalu and Shahjahanpur upazilas.

In Kahalu, a man named Nur Islam, 50, a resident of Adarsh ​​(Guchch) village of Paikar union, was accused of raping two children aged about six years.

Local union council member Haider Ali said that the victims complained that rickshaw puller Nur Islam raped them. Based on the allegations, a arbitration was being held on March 14. At one stage of talks, Nur fled the meeting venue when the UNO was informed about the matter.

He said the matter came to light when the two children fell ill.

Kahalu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Hannan said that a case has been registered in the rape of two children. The victims have been sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHZMEC) Hospital for treatment and medical reports.

A police operation is underway to arrest the accused.

On the other hand, a physically and mentally challenged woman, who is about two and a half feet tall, was raped in Shajahanpur.

Police have arrested accused Hasan Ali, a resident of Patitapara area of ​​Phanpor union in Bogra Sadar upazila.

He is the victim's uncle.
