Casualties feared as Air Force F7 aircraft crashes in Uttara
A Bangladesh Air Force F7 aircraft crashed in the Diabari area of Uttara in the capital around 1:30pm on Monday.
Uttara Division Deputy Police Commissioner, Mohidul Islam, confirmed the incident to media, saying, "I was informed just five minutes ago about the crash in the Milestone College area. I am heading to the site to verify the details."
After the incident, people from the surrounding area rushed to the scene. It has been initially learned that Squadron Leader Toukir was on the aircraft. It is not clear whether there was anyone else on the plane."
Reports on various social media platforms indicate that several civilians were also injured at the site of the plane crash. They were seen being rescued and taken to the hospital. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether there were any fatalities in the incident.
Lima Khanam, duty officer at the fire service control room, said, "We received information at 1:18 pm about a plane crash near Uttara Milestone College. Three of our units are at the scene, with two additional units en route. We do not have further details at this time."
