CCTV cameras installed at polling station in Lakshmipur stolen
Ahead of the elections, a CCTV camera installed at a polling station in Lakshmipur was stolen.
Two CCTV cameras were stolen from the polling station of Dakshin Chiladi Government Primary School in Kushakhali Union of Sadar Upazila.
The acting headmaster of the school confirmed the theft on Wednesday (February 4) night and said that a written complaint has been filed with the police station in this incident.
According to the complaint source, a total of three CCTV cameras were installed at the polling station of Dakshin Chiladi Government Primary School. Last Thursday (January 29) at 4 pm, the teachers returned home after giving school leave at the scheduled time. After that, the school was closed for three consecutive days. On Monday (February 2) morning, the teachers found that miscreants had removed two of the three CCTV cameras installed on the ground floor.
The acting headmaster of the school, Mosammad Momtaz Begum, said, "We closed the school as per the rules and went home." Three days later, on Monday, I came to see that two CCTV cameras installed for voting had been stolen. The matter was immediately reported to the administration and a written complaint was filed with the police station.
Lakshmipur District Assistant Returning Officer and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kathoypru Marma said, "I am aware of the matter. A complaint has been filed with the police station."
