CEC directs field administration to prevent rigging in polling stations

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal directed the field-level administration to prevent any kinds of irregularities, rigging, and encroachment in the upcoming batinal polls. He made the call while addressing a press briefing after a meeting in Jashore on Friday.

The CEC held this meeting with deputy commissioners, superintendents, upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs), and officers-in-charge (OCs) of 10 districts of Khulna division, and Faridpur, Gopalganj and Rajbari districts of Dhaka division.

Habibul Awal said, "The election will be made free, fair and peaceful at any cost. The law and order situation in the election field is good. only election officials would be allowed to be inside the polling stations. Returning Officers will have to perform key duties to ensure smooth elections.
