The Fire Service has said that the chances of rescuing Sajid, who fell into a deep tube well hole in Tanore, Rajshahi, alive is very low. As the soil and straw accumulated after 35 feet of the narrow hole with a diameter of 8 inches, oxygen could not reach the child's location. As a result, the oxygen supply has been stopped.

Two-year-old Sajid fell into a hole made for digging a tube well in Purbapara village of Koelhat on Wednesday. The Fire Service started the rescue operation at 2:05pm. Eight units joined the operation one by one.

At a briefing on Thursday evening, 27 hours after the operation began, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Director of the Fire Service's Operation and Maintenance Department, said that the camera was lowered and it was seen that soil and straw were stuck in the hole after 30 feet. It is believed that these materials had fallen down when the locals tried to rescue them earlier.

He said that Sajid's location could not be found even after digging up to 42 feet. Due to the layer of soil and straw, it has become impossible for oxygen to reach, so oxygen supply has been stopped.

When asked about the child's chances of survival, he said: "What you are thinking, we are also thinking the same. But if God wills, everything is possible."

The fire service said that the hole was dug about 90 feet deep. Excavation work will continue up to that point. Three excavators are cutting the ground next to the hole, and tunnels will be made every 10 feet to look inside. In addition, rescue efforts will also be carried out manually.

The fire service said that the operation will continue until the rescue is completed.
