Change in Indian visa appointment system

The Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) has introduced changes to the appointment system for issuing Indian visas. The new system for issuing appointments started on Thursday, February 5. The signup process was launched at 12 pm, and it was announced that appointment slot booking would open from 6 pm.

Under the new system, appointments for the next day will be available from 6 pm the previous day. However, applicants must complete the signup by 5:30 pm and upload the necessary documents. IVAC has informed in a notice that a new Appointment Management System has been launched from Thursday, the link to which will be available on the official IVAC website. Appointments for Sunday (February 8) and all subsequent dates must be booked through this new system.

IVAC has requested applicants to carefully follow the issued guidelines to successfully book appointments. Along with completing the signup process, it has been advised to upload the necessary web files before 5:30 pm to book appointment slots at 6 pm.

Special instructions have been given from the outset of the new system to refrain from accepting fake or fraudulent appointment slots. The signup must be done using the email address used in the visa's web file. In this case, one OTP will be sent via SMS and another via email. First, the OTP from the email and then the OTP received on the mobile must be submitted to verify the email and mobile number. After that, signup must be completed with personal details. If the signup is not completed within the specified time, the appointment cannot be booked.

Once signup is complete, login using the mobile number and password. After logging in, entering the OTP sent to the mobile will reveal the appointment page. There, the necessary documents must first be uploaded, from which information will be automatically added to the system. After uploading the documents, one must wait until the appointment slots open. When the slots become available at 6 pm, logging in again will automatically show an appointment slot for the next day, which can be changed once. Once the appointment is confirmed, the designated visa fee must be paid.
