Chankharpul massacre: Probe report prepared against 8 including ex-DMP commissioner

The investigation work has been completed in the Chankharpul incident in Old Dhaka of the capital, as the first case of genocide in July-August. An investigation report was prepared against 8 police officers including the former DMP commissioner in this incident.

This investigation work was completed within 195 days. The investigation report has been prepared in 90 pages.

On Monday (April 21), Tajul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, informed the media about this information.

Tajul Islam said, the investigation work of the Chankharpul massacre has been completed. On Sunday (April 20), the investigation agency submitted the investigation report to us. With this, the investigation work of the first incident of the July-August massacre has been completed. 6 people were killed in Chankharpul on August 5. In this report, we have found 8 people as accused. These 8 accused include - former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former DMP Joint Commissioner Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, former ADC of Ramna Zone Shah Alam, Md. Imrul, former AC Ramzan DMP, Arshad Hossain, former Police Inspector Operation Shahbagh Police Station, Constable Sujan, Constable Imad Hossain and Constable Nasirul Islam.

He further said that evidence has been found against those who were ordered by senior officers and those who directly fired on the charge of command responsibility through various videos. An investigation report has been submitted against these eight people. The involvement of Sheikh Hasina and former IG of Police is also there in this incident.
