Chase, counter-chase between police, protesters in Badda
Quota reform protesters and police clashed in the capital's Badda area on Thursday morning during 'shutdown programme.' The confrontation, marked by chases and counter-chases, brought traffic in the area to a standstill.
Students blocked the road in front of BRAC University after 10:30 am on Sunday (July 18) as part of their protest. Hundreds of students participated in the demonstration.
Currently, the movement of all vehicles through the Merul Badda area is halted. Hundreds of vehicles are stuck on the roads due to a student blockade.
During the students' siege, the police initially chased them, causing the students to retreat. However, the students later rushed back toward the police, throwing bricks. In response, the police lobbed sound grenades. Currently, the students are staying inside BRAC University.
