Chhatra Dal labels RUCSU GS Ammar's actions as “terroristic”
The Rajshahi University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has accused Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU) General Secretary Salahuddin Ammar of engaging in “terroristic conduct,” alleging that his actions have disrupted the academic environment.
In a statement issued Sunday night (December 21), JCD said Ammar’s alleged threats and aggressive behaviour toward teachers, officers, and staff were inappropriate and posed a serious threat to campus order.
The organisation also condemned the resignation of six pro-Awami League deans, calling it a deliberate attempt to humiliate faculty and create instability.
JCD warned it would resist any form of intimidation or mob action on campus and urged the university administration to take legal action where evidence exists, while opposing baseless accusations and propaganda.
In response, Ammar dismissed the allegations in a Facebook post, saying criticism from Chhatra Dal confirmed he was “on the right path,” and asserted he would continue his activities following the deans’ resignations.
Meanwhile, students of the university’s Law Department issued a separate statement condemning Ammar’s remarks, urging restraint and adherence to institutional norms. They said disagreements over administrative decisions should be addressed through formal channels, not threats or abusive language.
Earlier on Sunday, a group of students led by Ammar staged protests demanding the resignation of pro-Awami League deans, locking deans’ chambers and administrative offices. Later that night, six deans formally expressed their inability to continue in office.
