Following the clash at Jagannath University, a clash and chasing-counterchasing incident occurred between activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Jatioatabadi Chhatra Dal at Dhaka College in the capital. At least 27 people from both sides were injured in the incident.

The incident began around 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, at the college's No. 2 Gallery. A discussion meeting of the college branch Chhatra Shibir was organised there to mark the second anniversary of the July uprising. The clash reportedly started while preparations for the programme were underway.

Dhaka College branch Shibir's Finance Secretary Mamun claimed, "We had a pre-announced programme titled 'Expectations and Achievements of the July Uprising'. Our activists were peacefully putting up posters in front of the No. 2 Gallery when JCD activists launched a surprise attack. Around 20 of our activists were injured. One person suffered a head injury."

Dhaka College branch JCD activist Md Rasel said, "In the morning, outsiders gathered on campus around a Shibir programme. They made provocative remarks towards JCD activists and beat one of our activists. When the news spread, our leaders and activists gathered and brought out a procession on campus. Later, Shibir activists attacked and chased us, leading to a clash."

Taking position in front of the college's main gate, branch JCD Member Secretary Millad Hossain said, "Today morning, Shibir attacked our brothers in a planned manner with the intention of killing them. We have taken position here to ensure the safety of our activists and students. No terrorist activities will be allowed on this campus. We will resist Shibir terrorists. We will not allow them to do politics on this campus at any cost."

Later, learning of Shibir activists' presence in the Nilakhet area, JCD activists chased them with sticks. In total, 27 people from both sides were injured, including at least 20 from Chhatra Shibir and 7 from JCD.

Earlier, on the same day, a clash and chasing-counterchasing incident had occurred between JCD and Shibir activists at Jagannath University during a programme attended by the UGC Chairman. The university administration and law enforcement agencies later intervened to bring the situation under control.
