Chhayanaut Bhaban vandalised in Dhanmondi

Chhayanaut Bhaban in Dhanmondi has come under attack following the news of the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. A group of angry people attacked the building on Thursday night.

Mithun Singh, duty officer of Dhanmondi Model Police Station, said that the angry crowd vandalized and set fire to Chhayanaut Bhaban. The fire service was informed and police rushed to the scene and tried to control the situation.

Sharif Osman Hadi died while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital at 9:45 pm on Thursday, Bangladesh time.

Earlier, on December 12, he was shot on Box Culvert Road in Bijoynagar in the capital. Hadi, who was in an auto-rickshaw, was shot from a motorcycle moving nearby. He was initially treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition. He was later taken to Evercare Hospital and from there sent to Singapore on Monday for advanced treatment.
